To schedule an appointment with the Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic, or request information about vaccines through our electronic voicemail system, call (781) 744-8860.

Appointments are available weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and until 9 p.m. one evening a week.

Check with your health insurance plan to be sure which travel medicine services will be covered. Health maintenance organization members will need a referral from their Primary Care Physician.

Although it is suggested that you contact the Travel Clinic well in advance of your trip, same-day visits can be arranged, if necessary. If time permits, appointments should be scheduled two to three weeks before traveling.

Trekkers and bicyclists to developing countries may want to allow four weeks in case rabies vaccine is necessary.

An appointment generally takes 30 minutes to an hour, including reviews of your medical history and travel plans and a limited examination to evaluate whether multiple vaccines may be safe for you.
